The movie was shot on a $50,000 budget in a single location with most of the dialogue being improvised. I’ve seen quite a few low budget movies but this one doesn’t give off that impression while you are watching it because you are engaged in the unfolding story the entire time. This an interesting and original take on the science fiction genre and the low budget science fiction genre in particular. The heightened tension only seems to ramp up as the movie goes along and new pieces of information about the comet and the characters are brought to light. The further along the night gets, the more bizarre unexplained things continue to unfold. With a comet passing over the house of a group of friends having a dinner party, strange things start to occur as the friends continue to discover unusually peculiar happenings. I’m not gonna lie, the tagline, “Rearrange Your Brain,” is cool as hell too. Even the bottom right poster with the ping pong paddle had multiple versions of its own, with different objects at the center of the placemat (stuffed monkey, napkin, etc.). I guess that makes sense, given the supernatural elements of the movie and thus the many different directions a person could explore in creating a poster for this movie. That could very well be the most eclectic and interesting grouping of movie posters that I’ve come across so far. Well, not only was the US movie poster for this movie the blandest and most generic one of all (see above), but there were basically an endless amount of posters that I came across that were not only better, but in some cases, pretty damn great. You should probably know by now (or maybe not) that I freaking love different takes on movie posters and how usually, foreign posters for a movie tend to be a little better and cooler in general.
